1/2 lb butter
1 lb (2cups) white sugar
1/2 lb (1 1/8 cups) brown sugar
2 tsp each salt and baking soda
3 (6 oz) packages chocolate chips
2 cups chopped nuts
Cream butter, shortening, sugars, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until light and fluffy. Sift dry ingredients together. Add to creamed mixture, stirring well. Mix in chips and nuts. Grease on 12×20 or two 6×10 pans. Bake at 350 degrees 30 minutes.
