Fiesta Nut Bars

Layer one:

1/4 cup butter or oleo

1 cup flour

1/4 tsp salt

Layer two:

2 eggs

1/2 cup molasses

1/4 cup sugar

2 tbsp. Flour

1/2 tsp rum flavoring

3/4 cup chopped nuts

Frosting :

2 tbsp butter or oleo

1 tbsp grated orange rind

1 1/4 cup sifted powdered sugar

2 tbsp orange juice

For the first layer cream butter, add flour& salt & mix thoroughly. Pat firmly into greased 9 inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

Prepare second layer. Beat eggs slightly; blend in molasses. Combine sugar, flour, & salt. Add to molasses mixture. Add rum flavoring& nuts. Spoon over baked layer. Return to oven And bake for 15 minutes.

Cream butter for frosting with orange rind. Add sugar & juice& mix well, until smooth. Spread evenly over baked and cooled cookies.
