Scottish Peanut Bars

Work with spoon until soft 3/4 cup butter. Gradually add while beating 1/2 cup brown sugar. Beat until light.

Sift together and add

1 1/2 cup flour

1/4 tsp salt

1 tsp baking powder

Mix until well blended. Spoon into ungreased 13x9x2 pan. Pat down gently. Bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees.

Combine in a saucepan;

1 cup dark corn syrup

1 cup sugar

Bring to boil while stirring. Remove from heat.

Add:

1 pkg butterscotch chips

1 1/4 cup peanut butter

Stir until blended. Stir in 3 cups cornflakes. Mix well. Spoon mixture over base and cool.
