M&M Super Chocolate Nut Cookies

1 pkg (1lb) Plain M&M’s Plain chocolate candies

2 1/2 cup flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp tsp salt

1 cup butter or margarine, softened

3/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup chopped pecans

Chop 1 1/2 cups of the candies; save remainder for decoration. Stir together flour, baking soda, and slat. Cream butter and sugar in large bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Add chopped candies and the nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto lightly greased baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees F. for six to seven minutes. Remove from oven; put three whole candies on top of each cookie. Return to oven and bake three to 5 minutes, or until light brown. Remove from baking sheets and cool on wire rack. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.

Oatmeal Scotchies

2 cups flour

2 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

1 cup butter, softened

1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar

2 eggs

1 tbsp water

1 1/2 cups quick oats, uncooked

1 12oz pkg (2 cups) butterscotch chips

1/2 tsp orange extract

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. In small bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside. In large bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, eggs, and water; beat until creamy. Gradually add flour mixture. Stir in oats, butterscotch chips and orange extract. Drop by slightly rounded measuring rounded tablespoons onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees. Time 10-12- minutes. Makes 4 dozen 3″ cookies

My Very Own Oatmeal Cookies

1/3 cup each margarine and butter

1/2 cup each dark brown sugar and granulated sugar

1 large egg

2 2/3 cups rolled oats

2/3 cup sifted white or medium rye flour

3/4 tsp soda

1/4 tsp salt

1 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp each nutmeg and allspice

2/3 cup milk

1/3 cup raisins

Cream the margarine and butter together. Add the sugar. Stir in the egg. Next add oats to dough. Stir flour, soda, salt, and spices together. Add these dry ingredients alternately with milk. Stir in raisins last. Drop by spoonfuls on greased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees 10-12 minutes. Remove cookies from baking sheet immediately. When thoroughly cool, store in cookie jar.

Neapolitan Cookies

1 cup butter or margarine softened

1/2 cup sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla

2 1/4 cups flour

1/2 tsp salt

1 oz (1 square) unsweetened chocolate melted

1/4 cup chopped walnuts

2 tbsp finely chopped maraschino cherries

Mix butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla. Stir in flour and salt.

Divide dough into 3 parts. Leave 1 part plain; mix chocolate and nuts into 1 part and cherries into remaining part. Line loaf pan, 9x5x3 inches, with aluminum foil. Spread plain dough in bottom of pan. Top with a layer each of chocolate and cherry dough. Chill at least 2 hours.

Remove dough with foil from pan. Dough can be baked immediately or wrapped and refrigerated.

About 20 minutes before serving, heat the oven to 375 degrees. Cut dough into 1/4 inch slices, cut each slice in half crosswise. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake until light brown, about 10 minutes. Remove immediately from baking sheet. Makes about 6 1/2 doz. cookies.

Peanut Blossoms

1 3/4 cup flour

1 tsp soda

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup shortening

1/2 cup peanut butter

1 egg

2 tbsp milk

1 tsp vanilla

Combine all ingredients in large bowl. Shape dough in balls and roll in plain sugar. Place on ungreased sheet and bake at 375 degrees 10-12 min. Place candy on cookie and press down. 4 doz

Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Balls

18 oz jar creamy peanut butter

3 1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 stick margarine softened

Mix those ingredients together then add:

3 cup Rice Krispies (don’t use mixer, use spoon)

Roll into balls and refrigerate for 1 hour +

Melt in a double boiler (med heat)

6 oz Hersey’s milk chocolate

6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 tsp vanilla

1/3 bar parifin wax

Apple Sauce Bars

3 cup flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp cloves

1 cup brown sugar

3/4 cup shortening

1 egg

1 can (1lb) apple sauce

1 cup raisins

1/2 cup chopped nuts

Sift first 5 ingredients. Beat brown sugar and shortening until fluffy. Add egg and beat until smooth. Beat in dry ingredients alternating with applesauce. Stir in raisins and nuts. Spread in greased sheet pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Spread with orange glaze while warm.

Orange Glaze

2 cups powdered sugar

1/4 cup orange juice

2 tsp grated orange rind

Mix all ingredients
