German Sweet Chocolate Cake

1 pkg (4oz) sweet chocolate

1/2 cup boiling water

1 cup butter or oleo

2 cup sugar

4 egg yolks

1 tsp vanilla

2 1/4 cup sifted flour or 2 1/2 sifted cake flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 cup buttermilk, or 1/2 cup sour cream, 3/4 cup milk

4 egg whites stiffly beaten

Melt choc., in boiling water. Cool. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add yolks, 1 at a time, beating well after each.Blend in vanilla and chocolate. Sift flour with soda and salt. Add Alternately with buttermilk to chocolate mixture, beating after each addition until smooth. Fold in beaten whites. Pour into 3- 9″ pans lined on bottom with waxed paper.Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Cool. Frost tops only with Coconut-Pecan Frosting.

Coconut-Pecan Frosting

Combine 1 cup evaporated milk, 1 cup sugar, 3 slightly beaten eggs, 1/2 cup butter and 1 tsp vanilla. Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened, about 12 minutes. Add 1 1/3 cup coconut and 1 cup chopped pecans. Cool until thick enough to spread, beating occassionaly .

Miracle Whip Cake

Sift 3 times:

1/2 cup cocoa

2 cups cake flour

1 1/2 tsp soda

1/2 tsp salt

Cream 1 cup sugar with 3/4 cup miracle whip salad dressing. Add 1 tsp vanilla. Alternately add dry ingredients with 1 cup cold water.

Bake 25-30 minutes in a 350 degree oven . This Makes a very dark colored cake and very moist.

Chocolate Chip Streusel Coffee Cake

Base:

One 14 oz box Nestle Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix

1/2 cup sour cream

1 egg

2 tablespoons butter, softened

Streusel Topping :

1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1/4 cup unsifted flour

3 tbsp butter, softened

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/2 cup chopped nuts

Base:

Preheat of to 350 degrees. In large bowl, combine Nestle Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix (reserve morsels for later use), sour cream, egg, and butter, beat until smooth. Stir in Nestle Semi- sweet Real Chocolate morsels. Spread into greased 8″ square baking pan. Sprinkle Streusel topping evenly over batter.Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.Cool 20 minutes. Cut into 2 ” squares. Serve warm or cool.

Streusel Topping : in small bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, butter, and cinnamon, mix with fork or pastry blender until crumbly. Stir in nuts.

Makes one 8″ square coffee cake .

  • for 8″ inch square glass baking pan, Bake at 325 degrees for 40-45 minutes.

Date Chocolate Chip Cake

1 cup boiling water

1 cup chopped dates

1 tsp soda

1 cup shortening

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

1 3/4 cups flour

2 tbsp cocoa

1/2 tsp salt

 

Combine first three ingredients and set aside. Combine shortening, sugar, Add eggs one at a time and beat well. Sift dry ingredients¬† and¬† add to the egg mixture, alternating with date mixture. Pour into a greased 9″x13″ pan and sprinkle with one package of chocolate chips and cup chopped nuts.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Banana Cake

1 2/3  cup sugar

2/3 cup shortening

2 eggs

1 1/4 cup (3-4) mashed bananas

1 tsp vanilla

2 cup and 2 tbsp flour

1 1/4 tsp baking powder

1 tsp salt and soda

2/3 cup buttermilk

2/3 cup chopped nuts

Cream sugar, shortening and eggs until light. Add mashed bananas and vanilla. Mix well. Set aside. Mix dry ingredients together. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Stir in nuts. Bake in 2 layers or 9″x 13″ pan, well greased and floured. Bake 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes.

Watergate Cake

1 pkg white cake mix

1 small pkg Pistachio instant pudding

3 eggs

1 cup oil

1 cup 7up or club soda

1 cup chopped nuts

Combine all ingredients except nuts. Mix 4 min. Add nuts. Pour into 9″x13″ greased and floured pan. Bake 350 degrees for 35 minutes.

Frosting

1 pkg Pistachio pudding

1 1/2 c milk

Beat 2 min. Fold in large cool whip. Spread on cake. Refrigerate.

2 1/2 cup sugar

3 cup flour

1 1/2 tsp salt

1 1/2 tsp Cinnamon

1 1/2 tsp nutmeg

8 or 9 diced apple

2 cups nuts

1 1/2 cup oil

3 eggs beaten

3 tsp vanilla

Mix and bake at 350 degrees
